Causeries du dimanche : autograph manuscript, [n.d].

Manuscript of the essay, heavily revised by the author and used by the printer. In it Zola comments on the present state of French society and literature, making a strong argument for the principles of naturalism and realism in art. The title refers to Sainte-Beuve's long running critical essays "Les Causeries du lundi" (1849-1869), which Zola opposes.
